Side Effects of Calan –
Verapamil |
Like all other allopathic medicines, Calan-Verapamil Hydrochloride
too is supposed to cause side effects of different descriptions.
Amongst various side effects of Calan-Verapamil Hydrochloride, the
most common could include: dizziness and light headedness typically
during the first few days of starting this drug. It is suggested
that the patient should avoid activities that need alertness. Also
weakness, fatigue, nausea, muscle cramps, headaches, flushing or
constipation may be experienced by some patients after starting this
medication. Such effects however, disappear as the body adjusts with
the drug. In case, if the patient complaints of breathing
difficulty, swelling of hands or feet, irregular heartbeats, fever,
stomach or abdominal pains, yellowing of eyes and skin or darker
urination then he should immediately consult the doctor.
If the patient experiences any of the following serious side
effects, he should stop taking Calan-Verapamil Hydrochloride and see
the physician for necessary emergency medical assistance: An
allergic reaction including difficulty breathing, choking of throat
or swelling of lips / tongue / face or hives.; unusually faster or
slower heartbeats, shortness of breath, fainting, abnormal behavior
or psychosis, symptoms like jaundice or swelling of the legs and
ankles. Besides all these some less serious side effects such as:
unusual headache, fatigue or exhaustion or tiredness, trouble
sleeping or insomnia, vivid dreams, hair loss, nausea, vomiting or
diarrhoea and increased needs of passing urine may be experienced by
the patient for which he should continue taking the medication but
consult his doctor to report such developments.
Some other side effects different from the above could also be
experienced by some patients in rare case. |
